A visionary model, the Santa Lucia Preserve blends sustainable development into a permanently protected natural landscape. The founders’ vision led to the science and nature-based design of The Preserve with a dedicated conservation partner at its core—the Santa Lucia Conservancy.

Committed to the art and science of conservation living, our team offers expertise in the fields of fire safety, habitat restoration and enhancement, conservation grazing, ecologically sensitive construction, landscaping with native plants, pest management, and conserving biodiversity.

Equally important, the Conservancy serves a valuable role in nurturing the deep sense of wonder and peace that comes with being in contact with the natural world. Through our Environmental Education Program that serves 2,500 kids from around the county each year, we seek to inspire our youth to see the land as family rather than as a commodity, helping to instill in all of us a life-long conservation ethic.

Thank you for being a part of this amazing community.
